Free travel for Armed forces Community this weekend (29th & 30th June)
To commemorate and support ‘Armed Forces Day’, First Bus East of England, is providing ‘FREE BUS TRAVEL’ on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June to any person travelling to an organised event wearing uniforms and/or medals of the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Marines, Royal Air Force and any associated cadet force.
In addition, free travel is also allowed if a person is in possession of a current Ministry of Defence issued card, with their branch of military stated, or is a veteran displaying valid identification such as the MOD-issued Veteran’s Badge or wearing medals.
Armed Forces Day is a chance to show support for those who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to service families, veterans, and cadets. There are many events and services taking place across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, where people, communities and organisations can visit to show their support.
First Bus East of England, is the largest bus operator in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, and proudly connects and serves communities across the region.
Piers Marlow, Managing Director of First Bus East of England, said: “Armed Forces Day is an important occasion for many people across the UK who want to remember and commemorate those who have been lost in military service.
“At First Bus East of England, offering free travel is our way of thanking and honouring all current and former members of the armed forces community, including the many veterans who work with us at First Bus.”
