First Bus Norwich Donates over £2,000 Worth of Toys and Gifts to The Nook Children's Hospice
First Bus Norwich has brought festive cheer to the children and families supported by The Nook Children’s Hospice in Norfolk, part of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The team donated £2,000 worth of toys and gifts, along with a special box of chocolates for the care team, as part of their commitment to supporting EACH as one of their chosen charities for 2024.
The gifts will play a key role in EACH’s much-loved Winter Wonderland events, which offer members of the public a chance to get Christmassy and meet Santa Claus. These festive fundraisers are taking place on Sunday, 8th December, at EACH’s three hospices: The Nook, near Norwich; Milton, near Cambridge; and The Treehouse, in Ipswich.
Sheldon Rees, Operations Manager at First Bus Norwich, was part of the team that delivered the gifts. Speaking about the initiative, he said:
"At First Bus Norwich, we are dedicated to giving back to our community. Partnering with EACH allows us to support a cause close to many hearts. It was a privilege to personally deliver these gifts and see the incredible work being done at The Nook to make a difference in the lives of children and their families."
Laura Southcott, Senior Corporate Fundraiser at EACH, expressed their gratitude, saying:
"We’re so grateful to First Bus Norwich for choosing to support EACH as one of their charities for 2024. Their generous donation of toys and gifts will make our Winter Wonderland events even more special for the children we care for. The box of chocolates for our care team is a thoughtful touch that means so much. Thank you for making this festive season brighter for everyone here at The Nook."
The Winter Wonderland events are vital fundraisers that help EACH provide care and support to children with life-threatening conditions and their families. Thanks to donations like this, families can enjoy magical festive experiences while making precious memories together.
This donation reflects First Bus Norwich’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities and charitable initiatives, ensuring that the spirit of the season reaches those who need it most.
