First Bus Norwich has announced its festive timetable for the Christmas period, including information on a special Boxing Day service that will provide vital transport links for shoppers, football fans, and those wishing to enjoy leisure and entertainment across the city.
Passengers are encouraged to check the festive timetable before travelling, as there will be some slight variations to services between the Christmas and New Year periods depending on where on the network they're travelling.
First is pleased to announce that this year it will be offering a limited service on Boxing Day. There will be an hourly service on the 26 December on the following lines:
- Pink Line 11
- Orange Line 21
- Red Line 23
- Blue Lines 25 and 26
- Purple Line 37
The first buses into the city will begin between between 08:00 and 09:00, with the last buses leaving Norwich city centre between 17:36 and 18:20. Passengers are encouraged to check their specific route for timings.
The timetable has been designed to ensure residents can enjoy Boxing Day sales, leisure activities, and attend the Norwich City FC home match against Millwall FC. The schedule includes services scheduled to help fans return home after the game.
Piers Marlow, Managing Director of First Bus East of England, commented: "We are pleased to provide this Boxing Day service in response to the needs of our customers and the local community. By offering this service, we aim to support businesses in Norwich while ensuring residents can access the shopping, entertainment, and football that make Boxing Day special."
